Travel Information - Driver

Having a reliable and trustworthy driver is important, especially one that knows his way around; not to mention having your interest at all times.  I've been using Ake for quite a while since, he is more of a friend now to me than a regular taxi driver.

Ake drives a usual pink taxi most of the time, but if you have a bigger group he can arrange a big van that can take in more passengers; do check with him on this.

Ake can speak English, Mandarin, Thai.  Most of the time he will accompany you around the temples, sharing stories, history about the temples and monks.  But for those that requires a lot of climbing (eg stairs), do excuse him for not being able to accompany as he has gout and can't walk too much.

Ake is able to help you plan your route, but do let him know if there is specific temples or monks you like to visits.  I've been to many temples with him and he has arranged me to meet with chief monk from Wat Rakhang, LP Inn from Saraburi and many more.  Ake has a good taste for food too, ask him to recommend what is good around Bangkok.

As for Ake's charges I find it reasonable - having such a quality driver cum tour guide compared to his charges (which is the normal rates in the market).   So try not to bargain with him, if you need cheap drivers I could always find you one; but usually these cheap drivers just drive you to your destination and wait for you in their car.  You will probably be on your own and will missed out more than you could think of; with no one helping you to translate when the monk speaks to you.

Do contact him via Watsapp +66 899917452 for early booking as he is usually quite fully booked.

My first choice of driver for temple visiting - Ake

Ake +66 899917452

Safety in driving - Very Good
Knowledge of temples - Very Good
Punctuality - Very Good

A very dedicated driver, friend - see what he did to plan my trip?
His very own map from hours of research.  Salute!

If you need to travel in a group up to 13 pax, Ake will be able to arrange a
van as well.  His co driver is just as good and safe driver as him.  Thumbs up!

Nice, clean and comfy.  Great vehicle during my last trip up North!
