Built during the reign of King Mongkut, this temple was originally called Wat Ko Kaew as it was located on a small island – “Ko” means island in Thai.
Many ancient structures and statues have been found here, including the pagoda, Chedi Luang Pho Saeng, the shrine hall, and a large Buddha image situated along the riverside. Within the compound is also a sacred Bodhi tree, planted by King Rama V himself.
The temple is located on the west side of Tha Pho market.
Recommendation ****
LP Tew is also well versed in wicha. He is good with water blessing. I felt a chill down my body after his water blessing - LP explained that is because his katha has "entered" my body. |
