This Pakkred Babies home is home to 300+ orphans, age from babies to teenagers. Part of them are disabled. Usually before I go I like to ask them what they need and donate based on their requirements. The officer told me they need a total of 220 t-shirts, and some socks for the kids. I bought them at nearby Tesco and brought it down. And I donated a lunch for all the kids in the orphanage; about S$250+.
For those who are keen to do something like that please remember to check with the principal what they need; alot of donors just buy what they want and send without asking and they always end up having too much milk, rice etc. These are perishable and may not be able to be consumed before the expiry date. It will be a waste of your effort and money. Please take note, the rule applies to any charity organisation. Thanks!
