Local story - Wat Suan Luang was just a small temple then. One day the chief monk found a Kumanthong floating down the river and brought it back to the temple. That night he dream about the Kumanthong saying that it will help expand the temple. Since then many devotees who came to pray either won lottery or got their wishes granted; hence donated a lot of money to the temple.
The original Kumanthong can be found in the Abbot's room, unfortunately he was out so I didn't managed to get a picture of it.
