Phetchaburi - Wat Khao Ban Dai It - LP Daeng

LP Daeng's formal monkhood name is " PhraKru Yanwilas" but people popularly call him " Luang Phor Daeng". LP Daeng ordained monkhood in B.E.2441 and was a close disciple of LP Plian, the then Abbot of Wat Kao Ban Dai-It.

After LP Plian passed away in B.E.2461, LP Daeng was learning Dhamma and magical khowledge with LP Chui of Wat Kongkaram, the greatest Guru of PhetchBuri province.

Daengs' popularity grew during an epidemic which affected the local farming community in BE 2477.  LP Daeng made out many talismans for the farmers, telling them to place the charms into cages with the ill animals. News spread and farmers from neighborhoods also came to ask for the merciful and special talismans.  His fame began to rise.

In WWII, LP Daeng created and presented his PhaYants (magic clothes) and Takruts to Soldiers and people. When the Japanese troop landing in PraChuabKiriKhan Province which borders with Phetchburi, a small group of soldiers and patriotic people fought fearlessly. They were brave and unharmed due to LP Daeng's amulets.

Another event was the incident of a parachutist who jumped from a plane but his chutes failed to deploy. Following a strong gust of wind blew him into safely into a swamp and survived. he wearing a LP Daeng Somdej amulet.

LP Daeng passed away in B.E.2517 at the age of 96 with 75 years of his monkhood.  LP Boon Song assumed his post but passed away in BE2556.  The current abbot is LP Wang.
