Wat Phra That Nong Bua has the only square-shaped chedi in northeastern Thailand.
The main chedi is an impressive copy of the Mahabodhi temple in Bodgaya, India, although the white and gold paint gives it a slightly tacky appearance. Inside is a smaller chedi gilded with gold.
