Wat Suwandaram Ratchaworawihan is the monastery within the royal compound, located inside the city wall on U-Thong Road to the southeast of the town near the edge of Pom Phet, an ancient fortress. It was previously known as Wat Thong and was constructed by King Rama I’s father since the Ayutthaya time.
Later the temple was re-established and renamed to Wat Suwan Dararam. The monastery was extended and restored a number of times during the reigns of the Rattanakosin era (Bangkok).
Wat Suwandararam temple’s Ordination Hall is of the late Ayutthaya style, being placed on a boat-like concave base. Its gable depicts the God Vishnu on his mount Garuda. Inside the Hall are the mural depict the gathering deities and jataka stories, while the murals on the front wall show a image of the Lord Buddha subduing evil. Within the Viharn, there is a picture of the courage of King Naresuan the Great.

To get there, use the same route as Chanthara Kasem National Museum, turn right at the T-junction for another 1 kilometer.
